There’s no part of the urban music landscape that Jermaine Dupri has left untouched. Early in his career, JD demonstrated an ear for incredible talent - he discovered multi-platinum act Kriss Kross, and signed Xscape and Da Brat to his successful label So So Def. In the late ‘90s, he embarked on an acclaimed solo career, and went on to strike gold as a producer and songwriter. Over the years he has crafted hits for hip-hop and R&B stars like Destiny’s Child, Janet Jackson, Usher, Fabolous, Jagged Edge, Jay Z and Mariah Carey - including Carey’s era-defining “We Belong Together,” named Billboard’s “Song of the Decade.” Today, Dupri is as in-demand as ever as a producer, songwriter and DJ. To celebrate his 25th year as an ASCAP member, JD will give the EXPO audience a closer look into his creative process, and the lessons he’s learned throughout his unparalleled life in music.
