Ajda the Turkish Queen
Singer-Songwriter, Voice Teacher

I am a passionate musician. Music is my life! I sing and play guitar, mandolin, flute, keys, and more. I write songs that I perform solo, and with my original band Black Fortress of Opium. We are currently about half-way done working on our third album, hopefully out later this year. Because our sound is rootsy yet ethereal, we have a name for our own genre - gothicana! Turkish and Texan influences...Kind of like Siouxsie & the Banshees meets Led Zeppelin, or so we are told.

I also teach voice lessons in Boston, in an independent studio. And in my spare time I have 2 cover projects - a duo that performs jazz/blues standards (plus a gospel tune or two), and a new band named AjDIO, which performs songs of Ronnie James Dio from his time in Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, and his own solo group Dio.

In addition to rocking out, I also love food and am a total foodie.

Looking forward to my first ASCAP expo.
